I'm a scruffy Herbert in my mid fifties, based in mid
Cornwall in the UK, and living alone after two failed marriages. I've
long had severe problems with depression and anxiety, and when you
add in IBS and a permanently bad back (Ankylosing Spondylitis) then
things can be a bit trying. They shoot animals with far less wrong
with them, reasonably enough too, let's be honest.
To combat all the above ailments and
maladies I do try and maintain my sense of humour, both as a
diversion for myself and a front for when meeting other people, but
that can only work up to a point personally and can be flipping
tiring as well when around others.
But I have also recently got back into
cycling, riding an old snotter and a couple of cheapo mountain bikes,
and in turn, that has given my life long interest in taking photos a
boost as well. (I hesitate to use words such as 'photography' and
'photographer' when describing my hobby and the results, as those
terms imply a certain level of competence...).
I actually hate having my photo taken, but there are only so many shots of a static bike leaning on a gate I can stomach, so to illustrate a ride or whatever I might be banging on about here, I include myself in some of the photos, sometimes even coming out from hiding beneath a hat or glasses.

So having been persuaded to try this
blogging malarkey, what will be found here? Nothing too insightful or
eye opening no doubt, just my photos, my rides, my thoughts and
feelings, and probably a fair helping of nonsense too. I like nonsense.
Oh and I answer to Mick, Michael, Mike,
occasionally 'Oi Dickhead' and frequently 'Did you do that?' but
never Mikey. Mikey is a big no-no.
